Mo Laycock OBE

Maureen Laycock OBE

I am a painter/textiles artist. My inspiration for work comes from local walks around Oughtibridge, Bradfield & Derbyshire as well as travelling in the UK & abroad.

I paint in acrylics & oils, painting semi-abstract landscapes & seascapes. Recently I have been experimenting with scraping into paint, drips, sanding down & reapplying layers. This has proved to be therapeutic & interesting.

I produce textiles/multimedia work from natural life. I use dyes, machine & hand sewing here.

I work in my studio on a daily basis listening to music from the 60s/70s. I very much enjoy the peace of the creative process.
