Uura Niemi-Junkola

I use watercolours, acrylics and charcoal to make semi-abstract paintings. My work is characterised by flowing forms and colour.
I am a Sheffield based artist originally from Finland. I am an intuitive artist who likes to ‘go with the flow’ and to use the painting process itself as inspiration. I use variety of mediums; acrylics, water-colour, ink, charcoal etc., and often a lot of water during painting. This creates an unpredictable element to the paintings and the creative process. My work is mostly characterised by colour, shape, flow and movement. I feel across my work in different mediums, which expresses contrasting aspects of my personality; strength, delicacy, vulnerability and drama.
