Wendy Carlton

I have been a professional artist for 40 years, I paint large dramatic colourful paintings, abstracts, florals and landscapes. Acrylic is my preferred medium.
I started my long career in art as a Textile designer in London after achieving a 1st class hons in the subject.
I painted mainly florals which I still love to paint now and my use of bold colour has always been apparent throughout my work whether it be textiles or large canvases.
I started using acrylics, both heavy body and inks many years ago as I prefer the vibrancy and textures you can achieve.
My paintings have been sold in galleries and private collections nationwide and I am so very fortunate to have made a career doing something I love.
I take inspiration, like many artists, from nature and my many woodland and countryside walks with my dogs. I put my own colourful, cheerful spin on the paintings and I am often told my paintings make people feel happy.
I am hoping to create a new range over the next few months which will be looser, free spirited, and evoke emotions rather than depict a scene or flora/fauna.
I also make a range of homeware using images of my paintings.
