Rebecca Nex
Photographer and printmaker – working in digital photography, alternative processes (cyanotype/lumen) and printmaking (monoprint, collagraph, collage). Inspired by the landscape and botanicals.
I am a photographer by background, but have expanded my practice to include more traditional photographic methods (e.g. cyanotype), as well as printmaking, using mainly collagraph and mono-print techniques. I like to combine media by layering pieces into semi-abstract collage. Whatever the medium, my work typically reflects botanical elements and aspects of the landscape. A range of work will be displayed – cards and some artwork/prints for sale.
I am currently studying for a Fine Art degree with the Open College of Arts, and I am an invited member of the London Salon of Photography, exhibiting with them annually. My photographs have been included in the International Garden Photographer of the Year on a number of occasions, where they have been displayed at Kew Gardens, London. This is my second time participating in Open Up Sheffield, and I look forward to welcoming you into my studio.
