Make a day of visiting our Silkstone and Barnsley artists showing 8 artists in just 2 venues– there are lots of other attractions not too far away such as the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Wentworth Woodhouse or take in the Cooper Gallery and Experience Barnsley Museum, both of which have fantastic exhibitions this May.

At Experience Barnsley the Cleopatra and The Queens of Egypt exhibition a mesmerising collection spanning 5000 years of history, curated by Barnsley’s own Egyptian Queen, Professor Joann Fletcher. At Cooper Gallery a new and inspiring exhibition is showing called Studio Prints: Creative Collaboration taking you behind the scenes of print making.

The Cooper also has a wonderful and welcoming café, and both the museum and Cooper are free and accessible and very family oriented. Barnsley town centre also has wonderful variety of shops, an award-winning market and lots of bars and restaurants, All within a short walk.
